Who

Psychotherapist

Background

I have a professional bachelor in Social Science and a postgraduate in Integrative Psychotherapy with a fascination for altered states of consciousness. In 2016 I started my career in addiction (health) care as a harm reduction worker for Safe ’n Sound. I combined this with general alcohol and drug prevention work and an internship as a psychotherapist at the addiction care service at the Centre for Alcohol and Drugs, in Limburg.
Today I work as a project manager at The Flemish Expertise Centre for Alcohol and other Drugs, in Brussels.

The fuse that got me into this field of work was the desire to work with substance abuse and addiction clients. It was during the summer of 2015 when I was on a holiday in the mountains of Andalusia, that I had a sober vision of what to do with my life. It was clear, I want to be of service to other's healing and growing process. The decision to study psychotherapy led me in 2020 to finish my postgraduate degree in Integrative Psychotherapy. My thesis handled substance use, addiction and psychedelic therapy titled: 'The revenge of Dionysus, a paradoxical catharsis’.

Next to two 'tours' of tripsitting at Kosmicare and co-founding Psychedelic Society Belgium, I have taken several extra courses: i.e. psychedelics related, trauma informed, etc.

The learning never ends. This fall I start an interesting course on ‘Psychedelic Integration’ at ICEERS. Very excited for all of this and getting to work with you.
